WalkingAustria is a great country to go walking in, with fantastic views high in the mountains and mountain huts always insight for a welcome beer and snack. If you think hiking up to 2000m sounds a bit too strenuous then don't worry, because there are two chairlifts that run from the centre of the village to take you within easy reach of the top. You could walk down to the pretty village of Wagrain and get a gondola lift back to the top and amble back down to Flachau. MORE...........

Mountain BikingThere are four bikes available in our cellar which you can use. We did two really good bike rides, one was cycling down to Wagrain then turn left to Kleinarl. Then take two chairlifts up to the top of the mountain, then obviously have a beer. Then follow a track down for about 10k to Flachauwinkl then stop off for lunch at Badeesee on your way back to Flachau. The other one is down to Wagrain then turn left and follow signs to the Flying Mozart gondola. This takes you up the mountain. Then take lunch up the mountain and enjoy the long path down to Flachau. There are a number of cycling routes in the valleys which provide easier terrain to ride on, down to Eben or up to Flachauwinkl are both virtually flat following the river Enns. MORE........... |
HorsetrekingThere are several horseriding routes around flachau. MORE....... |
