MOUNTAIN BIKE ROUTES
Please take one of the maps with you. Blue=easy cycle path Red=gravel path and gentle incline.
Flachau-Seestuberl
Ride to the traffic lights (not working in summer) and turn right up through the village, at the top turn left over the bridge then right onto the cycle path (radweg). It says private road ignore this. Follow the path for about 5km until you come to the Badesee lake and the Seestuberl bar. A 1.5hr round trip flat and easy.
Flachau-Eben
Ride to the traffic lights and turn left then right before the supermarket down a gravel path over the bridge and turn left. Follow the path down under the road towards Reitdorf. Keep to cycle path, at the road turn left over the bridge then right on the Ennsweg. Follow signs towards Altenmarkt then follow signs for Eben.
Flachau-Wagrain-Kleinarl
(note: chairlifts at Kleinarl not running summer 2012)
Cycle to the traffic lights and turn left, at the roundabout cross over to the left and go left, at the next roundabout go straight on towards Wagrain. This is all on cycle paths (radweg) or minor roads except one hill. At the start of the decent down to Wagrain look out for a gravel path off to the left, follow signs to Wagrain and at the church turn left to Kleinarl, about 8km. After the initial steep part it flattens out into the valley. At Kleinarl you can take your bikes up the two chairlifts to Mooskopf about 13€ each (closed 12-13.30 open Tues, Thurs & Sun). From here you've got 10km downhill on a gravel track down towards the Flachauwinkl-Flachau road. Turn left down the road back to Flachau. Alternatively you could have a beer at Kleinarl and go another 5km up the radweg to Jagersee. There is a lovely old wooden restaurant by the lake. Then back down to Kleinarl and get the chairlifts.
Another alternative is from the top of the 2 chairlifts at Kleinarl follow signs to Wagrain mittlestation and Nazbauer. This eventually brings you out on the Wagrain Flachau road.
Flachau-Wagrain
Cycle to Wagrain and turn left at the church. Cycle towards kleinarl then turn left up a steep hill following signs to The Flying Mozart gondola. You can either take the lift to the midstation then go off left up a short s bend then 10k downhill to join the Wagrain-Flachau road back to Flachau.
A slightly longer route is to take the gondola to the top and cycle down to the midstaion or you can cycle back down to Flachau from the top.
